190 - Skilled nominated visa

This visa is a permanent visa for skilled workers who want to live and work in a particular state or territory in Australia. This visa also allows the main applicant to sponsor eligible relatives (family members).

This visa opens a pathway for Australian citizenship.

requirements

For you to apply for this visa, you need to:

● Satisfy the points test criteria (65 points at least)

● Have an occupation relevant to the skilled occupation list on the state or territory chosen by the applicant

● Have a suitable skills assessment for the occupation (note, provisional skills assessment will not meet this requirement)

● Be invited by the state or territory government agency

● Be under 45 at the time of invitation

● Meet English language

● Meet health requirements

● Have no debts to the Australian government

as this is a state/territory nominated visa, it is an expectation that you will reside in that particular state or territory once the visa is granted.

what you can do on this visa

This visa allows you to:

● Stay, work and study temporarily in Australia permanently in your chosen state or territory

● Travel as required from and to Australia for 5 years from the date the visa is granted. After 5 years from the granting date, the applicant needs to apply for a Resident Return Visa (Subclass 155 or 157)

● Sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence

● Enrol in Australia’s public health care scheme (Medicare)

● Apply to become Australian c itizenship it applicable
