Jul 19, 2022 | AUS | 0 comments

Recently the Australian Government has announced that applicants on a Bridging Visa waiting for an outcome of a 408 visa (Covid-19 Pandemic Event Stream) are able to apply for a Bridging Visa B and travel overseas.

What has changed?

Previously, applicants of 408 visa “Covid-19 Pandemic Event Stream” who have held an active bridging A visa were not allowed to travel outside of Australia while their 408 visa was being processed. However, the policy has now been relaxed to facilitate travel.  This is due to the lengthy periods associated with 408 visas.

All the other requirements in relation to the 408 visa “Covid-19 Pandemic Event Stream remain the same. This includes being in Australia at the time of decision on a 408 visa.

We highly encourage you to seek immigration legal advice from our team before proceeding with travel plans as individual circumstances may impact your ability to travel.
