Queensland Government has released the list of occupation of QLD state nomination skilled migration program on 5 September 2023. The projection is that QLD opens 1550 skilled nominations that will be allocated in monthly invitation rounds throughout the FY 2023/23.
The Queensland Government opened for both onshore and offshore migration, Graduates from QLD Universities and SBO (Small Business Owners). Below are the general criteria for each Visa Subclass:
190 “General Criteria”
- Non-trade occupations minimum score is 75 points. Trade occupations minimum score is 70 points;
- Be able to obtain an English Language Competent Level or higher. Some occupations may require higher English Language Levels.
- Evidence of full-time employment of at least 30 hours/weekly in the nominated or closely related occupation for 3 months immediately before EOI lodgement. You are still required to work in your closely related occupation by the time of EOI assessment;
- Evidence of ongoing full-time employment of at least 30 hours/weekly for at least the next 12 months from the EOI lodgement;
- Must be living in Queensland State for at least 2 years by the time of visa approval.
491 “General Criteria”
- Score 65 points or higher
- Be able to obtain an English Language Competent Level or higher. Some occupations may require higher English Language Levels.
- Evidence of living in Regional Queensland area and full-time employment of at least 30 hours/weekly in the nominated or closely related occupation for 3 months immediately before EOI lodgement. You are still required to work in your closely related occupation by the time of EOI assessment;
- Evidence of ongoing full-time employment of at least 30 hours/weekly in Regional Queensland area for at least the next 6 months from the EOI lodgement;
- Must be living in the regional Queensland area for at least 3 years by the time of visa approval.
Graduate Pathway “General Criteria”
- Score 75 points or higher for the 190 visa pathway. Score 65 points or higher for the 491 visa pathway.
- Be able to obtain an English Language Competent Level or higher.
- Have been living in Queensland. If the applicants fulfills the 190 criteria, they might be living in Queensland State. If the applicants fulfills the 491 criteria, they might be living in the regional Queensland area.
- Completed 100% of studies in Queensland
- Have graduated in the past two years.
SBO (Small Business Owners) in Regional area (Sc 491) “General Criteria”
Ther are 2 pathways for the SBO Program, that being:
Pathway 1
- Pre-existing registered business which purchased of a minimum of $100,000;
- Businesses must employ at least 1 Australian resident. The business must be a pre-existing business and has been purchased
- Business must be purchased and trading for a minimum of six months prior to EOI lodgement.
Criteria for pathway 1 is:
- Applicant must be living and operating their businesses in regional Queensland;
- Occupation must be on the list;
- Applicant must be working full-time – at least 30 hours/weekly;
- Prove evidence of holding 100% ownership of the business – partnerships or joint ventures are not eligible.
- The business purchased must have been operating for a minimum of 2 years in its current location, immediately prior to purchase;
- Prove that the business has been purchased for a minimum of $100,000;
- Applicants must prove that they have been operating the business for a minimum of six months after settlement.
- Prove employment of at least one Australian resident that works a minimum of 20 hours/weekly o2 2 employees working 10 hours/weekly. Family members and subcontractors do not count for this criteria.
Pathway 2
- Have started a business and continuously operated the business for at least 2 years;
- Business must be profitable and have a turnover worth of $200,000 in the past 12 months prior to the application
Criteria for pathway 2 is:
- Applicant must be living and operating their businesses in regional Queensland;
- Occupation must be on the list;
- Applicant must be working full-time – at least 30 hours/weekly;
- Prove evidence of holding 100% ownership of the business – partnerships or joint ventures are not eligible.
- Evidence that the business has been operating a profitable start-up for a minimum of 2 years, with a turnover of $200,000 in the 12 months prior to application.
Although the general criteria is listed above there are requirement exceptions and occupation caveats.
