The Department of Home Affairs made an announcement during the recent MIA conference that they will be implementing long-awaited ENS reforms on November 25, 2023.
November 25, 2023 has been set as the launch date for the updates to the Employer Sponsored migration program.
This means that Subclass 482 Temporary Skills Shortage visa holders may now qualify for PR after just 2 years with their sponsors. This includes individuals in occupations listed on the Short-term Skilled Occupation List who lacked a direct PR option.
These reforms represent a crucial element of the Government’s strategy to provide skilled migrants with clearer and faster routes to PR. This is particularly positive news for both skilled migrants and employers, particularly in times of skill shortages.
For employers, this presents an opportunity to consider PR for employees who may not have been eligible before.
