The ANZSCO, which hasn’t seen a major update since its introduction in 2006, will be replaced on Friday 6 December 2024 by Australia’s new Occupational Standard Classification (OSCA).
This long-overdue shift aims to address outdated occupational tasks and better reflect the modern demands of industries.
The move allows Australia to tailor its classifications to its unique workforce while still maintaining cross-border comparability with New Zealand, ensuring continued labor mobility.
