New 3 Tiered Approach to skilled migration

Oct 16, 2023 | AUS | 0 comments

Australia’s Minister of Home Affairs has introduced a new three-tiered skilled migration system to align with the nation’s economic needs. It will look something like this:

  1. Essential Industries Pathway: Designed for workers in sectors of national interest, such as the care and support economy, this pathway targets those earning under $70,000. It aims to address skill shortages in vital industries.
  2. Core Skills Pathway: Focused on recruiting skilled migrants with core skills required for the dynamic job market, this pathway eliminates rigid occupation lists. It encompasses migrants above the new Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT).
  3. Specialist Skills Pathway: Geared towards high-skilled, specialized workers, this pathway simplifies entry based on a specific salary threshold. It facilitates quicker access to top-tier talent in sectors demanding expertise.

We hope that this new system will streamline immigration procedures and accommodate migrants from all areas of the workforce.
