From 30 September 2025, the Department of Home Affairs expanded the use of the Australian Immi App to 10 additional countries, making visa processing faster, cheaper, and more convenient for thousands of travellers.
The free mobile app allows eligible visa applicants to submit their passport details and facial biometrics directly from their smartphones. This removes the need to visit an Australian Biometric Collection Centre (ABCC) each time a new visa is lodged.
Where the Australian Immi App Is Available
Originally launched in Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, and for third-country nationals in New Zealand, the app is now also accessible in:
- Hong Kong (SAR of the People’s Republic of China)
- Malaysia
- Philippines
- Singapore
- Solomon Islands
- South Africa
- South Korea
- Thailand
- Tuvalu
- Vanuatu
Since its launch in September 2024, the app has been widely embraced across the Pacific, with nearly 30,000 users to date — and more than half submitting their details within just two days of receiving their invitation.
Key Benefits
Using the Australian Immi App:
- Saves time by allowing facial image submission straight after lodging a visa application
- Reduces costs by eliminating travel and appointment fees for biometric collection
- Speeds up visa processing, thanks to early biometric submission
A global rollout of the program is expected to be completed by early 2026, making the Australian visa process more accessible than ever.
