The Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs has officially confirmed the allocation for Victoria’s 2025–26 skilled visa nomination program.
Program Allocation
Victoria has been allocated a total of 3,400 visa nomination places for the 2025–26 program year, distributed as follows:
- Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190): 2,700 places
- Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491): 700 places
Existing Registrations of Interest (ROIs)
Existing active Registrations of Interest (ROIs) will remain valid for consideration under the 2025–26 program. Applicants only need to submit a new ROI if their previously provided information has changed.
Information Session
An online information session will be held on Thursday, 27 November 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Interested participants can register to attend.
Application Requirements
To be considered for nomination, new applicants must:
- Meet the current eligibility criteria
- Submit a SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI)
- Lodge an ROI via the Live in Melbourne portal

Visa Pathways
- Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190): A permanent visa allowing skilled migrants to live and work anywhere in Victoria.
- Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491): A provisional visa enabling skilled migrants to live and work in regional Victoria, with a pathway to permanent residency through the subclass 191 visa.
