The Australian Government has confirmed South Australia’s allocation for the 2025–26 General Skilled Migration program.
Program Allocations
The total allocation, including interim places, is as follows:
- 1,350 nomination places for subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated visa)
- 900 nomination places for subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional visa)
Applications are now open for Registration of Interest (ROI) from individuals currently living and working in South Australia.
For offshore applicants, an ROI is not required. Instead, invitations will be issued directly from their Expressions of Interest (EOI) lodged in SkillSelect.
Application Guidance
Before applying for an ROI, you are encouraged to carefully review the requirements for all relevant streams before submitting an ROI. Information on the application process can be found on the How to apply page.
Update on DAMA
The Department of Home Affairs has recently introduced changes to the Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMA) variations.
Under the new change:
- South Australia can support only one variation per year for each labour agreement.
- Variation requests cannot be accepted within the first six months after a new agreement is executed.
Businesses are advised to plan ahead to ensure their workforce needs align with these updated requirements.
