Overview:
Subclass 400 Visa, known as a short stay specialist visa, is designed for employers to bring skilled international workers for a short-stay period (up to 3 months) to perform non-ongoing work in any project or program that requests a highly specialised skills that could not be found in Australian labour market.
The Department considers a non-ongoing work any work that can be finalised no longer than 6 months. If the work needs to take longer than 6 months, it is not considered non-ongoing. Therefore, this visa is not the most suitable one.
Requirements:
Some of the requirements for the 400 visas are:
- Have a business that requires skilled professional to perform a non-ongoing work for up to 3 months;
- Employers must provide the reasons for bringing internationals instead of hiring the local Australian labour to comply with the “genuine need for employment” criteria;
- Evidence of work such as contract or professional agreements.
- Evidence of qualifications from the applicants seeking a 400 visa;
- Proof of financial support from the applicants seeking a 400 visa;
- Applicants must meet character, not having a previous visa refused or cancelled;
- Have no previous debts with the Australian Government;
